Gossip Girl: 5 Characters We Want On Our Team In A Zombie Apocalypse (& 5 We Don’t) - Screen Rant

The young adults tortured by Gossip Girl on the Upper East Side aren't the characters who learn how to fight, work with their hands, or make their own meals. They have staff members who do things like that for them. How, then, would any of them survive in a world ended by a zombie apocalypse?

Despite being used to giving orders and having an unlimited credit card, some of the Gossip Girl characters would adapt to the new world order. Fast learners who survive at any cost, those characters would be valuable to a team looking to make a life in a world ravaged by zombies. The rest, however, probably wouldn't even make it beyond the initial outbreak.

10 Yes: Jenny

Jenny Humphrey is one of the most polarizing characters of Gossip Girl. Some fans hate how she leaves the show while others hate how her rivalry with Blair changes her. Jenny's story, however, proves that she has what it takes to adapt to a new world order.

Though Jenny does break a bit under the pressure she feels while constantly trying to one-up Blair, she also comes up with creative solutions to her problems. Jenny proves herself able to think outside of the box and her social circle. She's also got some serious sewing skills, which could come in handy as infrastructure declines. Jenny might be using those skills to sew up wounds instead of fabric.

9 No: Chuck

He might be a fan favorite thanks to his relationship with Blair, but Chuck Bass is no one's friend at the end of the world. Instead, he's more likely to be the person clamoring for power.

In fact, Chuck would probably be willing to sacrifice everyone around him to keep himself comfortable. He would promise his lackeys lavish gifts they could use once the world is "normal" again, but be the first one to push them into a horde of zombies to make his mistake. With Chuck on your team, you're more than likely zombie food.

8 Yes: Georgina

This might be a surprising addition since Georgina is, in a lot of ways, the female equivalent of Chuck. The truth is, however, that Georgina is a lot more willing to get her own hands dirty than Chuck is.

She also has a son during the series, and despite often acting as evil as the show's best villains, Georgina has her son's best interests at heart. Her lies to Dan about her son are because she wants him to grow up with better parents than she did. Georgina has it in her to actually become a better person during a zombie apocalypse, putting her kid first and doing right by the rest of the team if they help her protect her son.

7 No: Vanessa

Gossip Girl Vanessa

Vanessa is actually one of the most self-sufficient characters in the series. She probably wouldn't even need her own group to survive for a long time. The problem is that Vanessa is more concerned with making sure everyone around has exactly the same point of view as her, and is more likely to be confrontational when the rest of the group doesn't immediately accept her ideas.

Vanessa being a part of this group of survivors would only further create tension and division in the ranks, making survival even harder.

6 Yes: Dorota

Dorota and Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl

Dorota spends most of Blair Waldorf's life taking care of the heiress. She's a maid for the Waldorf family, but she does more work for Blair - including spying on competitors - than she does anything else.

Dorota doesn't make it onto the zombie apocalypse team for her skills as a maid, but because she finds ways to get anything done. Need someone's darkest secret? Dorota will find a way to get it for Blair. She's willing to do it all for the people she cares about, which would mean she'd bond quickly with her group and help them survive. She also inspires loyalty. Blair would never leave Dorota behind in an apocalyptic situation.

5 No: Juliet

Katie Cassidy as Juliet Sharp in Gossip Girl

When Juliet comes to town, she has nothing but trouble on her mind. All she wants to do is get revenge on the person who hurt her family - Serena. Juliet is someone who can't let anything go, and once she's been wronged, there's no going back.

That makes her dangerous to the group in an apocalyptic setting. If she decides she doesn't like the way something is handled or thinks another member of the group is targeting her, she'll ruin everything for everyone.

4 Yes: Blair

With Dorota on the team, Blair is a must to include. Sure, she and Jenny have their (many) differences, but when push comes to shove, they can work together for the good of their survival. The same is true of Blair and Georgina.

Blair is resourceful. She uses whatever she has at her disposal to get what she wants. That might lead to a power struggle at first, but her desire to live would outweigh anything else. She's also a fast learner, adapting to having to actually work for her internship, and able to see what being a royal would mean quicker than most. She's not going to let a little zombie apocalypse stop her from finding a way to live her life. She might just have to live in sneakers and without her favorite makeup for a while.

3 No: Nate

gossip girl nate

Nate has a few rebellious moments in the series, like having a fling with Serena while he's dating her best friend. Other than that, he appears to be squeaky clean compared to most of his friends.  That's "appears."

Nate tends to do exactly what his friends and family expect of him instead of figuring out his own path. Sometimes, that involves some corrupt practices. In an apocalyptic setting, he'd have to think for himself, and he'd probably lose the fight early.

2 Yes: Dan

Dan Humphrey in Gossip Girl

This might be a bit controversial since Dan was Gossip Girl. He put the people he became friends, and fell in love, with through an incredibly rough high school and college experience in order to make himself part of their circle and become a writer. That's not something that's easy to forgive, but they did.

Over the course of the series, Dan even did a lot of bad things without the Gossip Girl guise, but in the end, he wanted to be the good guy. His desire to ultimately do the right thing and be there for the people he cared about would serve him well in an apocalypse. Like his sister, Georgina, Dorota, and Blair, Dan is also incredibly resourceful and creative, finding ways to reach his goals. He wouldn't let anything stand in the way of his group's survival.

1 No: Serena

gossip girl serena

Serena Van der Woodsen is the golden girl of Gossip Girl. She's the mean girl who tries to be good. She's also the character who always seems to make everything about her - no matter who she's trying to help.

Serena isn't a bad person, but she's just as  - if not more - selfish as Georgina and Chuck. She's also used to being an alpha in her friend group, making it difficult to imagine an apocalyptic situation where she and Blair can actually be the friends they always wished they were. Serena is more likely than anyone else in the series to slide back into old habits and ruin things for everyone.
