I apologize in advance for how many times I scream about coats.
Heyyyy, Upper East Siders! Welcome to the final installment of snarky comments and hilarious quips about the fashion from Season 1 of the Gossip Girl reboot. It's been a hell of a ride and I couldn't be happier to have had you by my side through all of it.
So, for the last time until Season 2, let's dive straight into all of looks from Episode 11 and 12: "You Can't Take It with Jules" and "Gossip Gone, Girl."
25. Wendy's school benefit gown:
Guys, I'm at my wit's end about how ugly these dresses are. It honestly feels like a personal attack at this point. Let's hope we ditch these hideous looks in Season 2!
24. Kate's city cowgirl look:
I'm not sure how to explain this, but this sweater just screams, "YEEHAW," every time I look it.
23. Wendy's sophisticated scheming fit:
I think the only reason this outfit is palpable to me is because of the headband. It's giving discount Blake Lively going to the Met Ball and I'm here for it.
22. Obie's "rugged and down to Earth" outfit:
The bar is so low for the men on this show and Obie is the perfect example of that.
21. Donna's paisley dream coat:
I freakin' LOVE this coat!! It's long and the pattern is so funky. Ugh, this show really had their coat game on lock.
20. Nick's packing/going to work look:
I just love to look at him. I mean, what? Who said that?!
19. Max's sweet toggle coat:
Between the sweater, bow tie, and coat, he looks like an innocent school boy. Which is absolutely hilarious.
18. Julien's moving day fit:
Something I never got to touch on in these reviews is how refreshing it is to see black characters, especially Black girls, wear hair wraps. As someone with super curly hair, it's always frustrating to see Black women not wrap their hair when going to bed or just waking up. It's such a small detail, but I truly appreciate the show for incorporating it for Julien and Zoya. Plus, that jacket is dope AF.
17. Shan's streetwear look:
It's about time this show jumped out of the fancy world of Upper East Side fashion and give us a taste of what other people outside of Julien's circle wear.
16. Julien's preppy school uniform:
I've said it once and I'll say it again: BIKER SHORTS ARE NOT IT, CHIEF. However, that coat is incredibly classy and I do love how she's wearing it.
15. Zoya's cozy apartment hunting fit:
I'm such a sucker for tie-dye, especially tie-dye sweaters.
14. Julien's suuuuuper casual bar look:
OF COURSE I COULDN'T GET A GOOD PICTURE OF IT, but the body suit is super cute and the jeans look like Julien is taking a cue from Zoya's style.
13. Julien's nighttime stroll coat:
The knit dress underneath is cute as well, but this coat is EVERYTHING. The color, the length, I NEED it.
12. Heidi's classy fundraiser dress:
She may not have had a lot of scenes, but Ms. Heidi definitely made the right impression with this dress.
11. Luna and Monet's lounging around looks:
I'll never understand how they both can look so effortlessly beauitful.
10. Shan's punk rock school uniform:
Listen, guys, I know I've made some jokes in the past about how the Constance Billiard uniforms are basically anything you want them to be, but this one definitely has to be my favorite. It's so unique and edgy and everything I want to see more of in Season 2.
9. Zoya's pool day fit:
Once again, Ms. Zoya is not out here catering to anyone's standards when it comes to her fashion. While everyone is wearing designer bathing suits, my girl is out here in tie-dye shorts and slides. SLIDES! I couldn't love her more.
8. Luna's floral bathing suit:
Between the color being absolutely gorgeous on her and the fact that this suit highlights her incredibly long legs, I think this is my favorite look from the pool scene.
7. Luna's sweet stay-at-home fit:
It's so simple and yet so gorgeous?????
6. Monet's revenge planning look:
The best part of this outfit by far is the adorable captain's hat. It looks like something Janet Jackson would've worn in the '90s.
5. Camille's fiery dress moment:
Yes, Camille is a monster who raised a monster, but you can't deny that the de Haan's can rock the hell out of the color red. Speaking of which...
4. Monet's rocking red NYE dress:
I'm not gonna complain AGAIN about the fact that you couldn't get a clear look at this, but it's fine because Monet looks so freakin' good!!
3. Luna's lovely lace NYE gown:
When she came gliding out of the crowd wearing this, my jaw dropped. She looks like an angel. She looks like a sexy version of someone on Little House on the Prairie. Once again, Luna La has stolen my heart.
2. Julien's Lady Gaga-esque NYE look:
It's the pointy shoulder pads for me. Plus, I love how many times she's worn head stones this season. It's such a good look on her.
1. And finally, Audrey's little black NYE dress:
Okay, I'm not gonna lie, this surprised me as well. This dress is so simple, but it looks phenomenal on Audrey. In a season where Audrey never really impressed me with her fashion choices, this was such a nice and welcomed surprise. Let's keep this energy going into Season 2!!
And the winner for the best best fashion from Season 1 is...LUNA LA!!
I mean, are you surprised???
Alas, my darlings, our time has come to an end. Thank you so, so much for joining me on this fabulous journey through fashion. Until next time, XOXO!
