Podcasts with gossip and chit-chat are helping alleviate the absence of office banter while working from home.
Sometimes there is nothing better than having a good belly laugh at a brilliant story.
I’ve been gravitating towards comedy podcasts of late, as I’ve been working from home more and miss the office chatter.
Gossip, dirty laundry and chitter chatter are the cornerstone of the comedy podcast Gossipmongers. English comedians Joe Wilkinson, David Earl and Poppy Hillstead ask listeners to send in juicy gossip and urban legends, they then discuss them and decide which one is the funniest.
It’s a mixture of hilarious stories and three people just talking complete nonsense – and I absolutely love it. There are three seasons of the podcast to binge on and the crew have recently started recording season four.

More storytelling, this time of an intimate nature ensues with married actors Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally in their podcast In Bed with Nick and Megan. You’ll know Nick from his Ron Swanson role in Parks and Recreation and Megan plays the hilarious Karen from Will and Grace.
They record every episode in their bed and talk with celebrity guests like Rob Lowe, Demi Lovato and Jack Black in an intimate and candid way. The real-life couple are very funny together and their pillow talk will make your toes curl.
Lastly, if you’re looking for intimate stories and a quick-witted interviewing style, look no further than late- night talk show veteran Conan O’Brien’s Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend. The title of this podcast reflects its tongue-in-cheek premise – that despite 25 years interviewing thousands of people on his TV show, he's never made any lasting friendships.
O’Brien is a master interviewer and his weekly guest list is impressive, with friends like Amy Schumer, Nick Kroll, Tina Fey and Michelle Obama stopping by. It’s great to have on in the background at home when you’re missing your office friends.
