Ever since Saturday Night Live debuted in 1975, the show has created stars out of (relatively) unknown comedians, like Adam Sandler and Tracy Morgan. On the flip side, the show has also been able to showcase some major A-list celebrities and their abilities to do more than just act or sing. Some of the biggest names have walked through the doors of Studio 8H, Matthew Broderick and Chris Hemsworth to name a few. But there are a notable few who haven't had the privilege to offer audiences their own opening monologue. These celebrities might be surprising now, but maybe there's a chance we'll see them grace our screens soon enough. From Brad Pitt to Meryl Streep—yes, Meryl Streep—here are the names of a few actors and actresses who haven't hosted an episode.

1 of 30

Brad Pitt

While he's been portraying Dr. Fauci on the show the last few months, it's surprising to see Pitt hasn't hosted SNL.

2 of 30

Lauren Graham

She's a beloved actress from Gilmore Girls. She's also incredibly funny. A winning combination, if you ask us.

3 of 30

Will Smith

We're pretty sure the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air would know how to get a laugh or two from an SNL audience if given the chance.

4 of 30

Julia Roberts

She's one of America's sweethearts and she's not afraid to make a fool of herself when necessary. If that doesn't scream SNL host, we don't know what will.

5 of 30

Christian Bale

Would he be able to wear the Batman costume during his opening monologue?

6 of 30

Mindy Kaling

She knows how to be funny and she's been the writer for shows like The Office, The Mindy Project or Never Have I Ever. Imagine what she can do with a full writers' room of comedians.

7 of 30

Chris Evans

For a man who's a part of one of the most popular superhero franchises, you'd think he'd been a host at least once. While it's sadly not the case, he does have an affinity for reacting to the show's sketches.

8 of 30

Meryl Streep

How could SNL not given her hosting duties at some point in her illustrious career? She's Meryl Streep, for goodness sakes!

9 of 30

Laura Dern

She's an Oscar winner who knows no bounds when it comes to acting. Given its variety of sketches, SNL would be the perfect place for her to flex her comedy skills.

10 of 30

Mark Wahlberg

While he's been in multiple sketches on the show, the Lone Survivor star has never hosted a full episode. Maybe Andy Samberg can convince him to try it out.

11 of 30

Keanu Reeves

As of late, Keanu's known for starring in action films. It would be nice to see him kick back and do some comedy once in a while.

12 of 30

Harrison Ford

Yet another person who SNL just needs to hire and have host an episode. Pronto.

13 of 30

Beyonce

Although she's been a performer on the show four times (twice while she was still in Destiny's Child), Beyonce is a triple threat when it comes to her talent. She'd be the perfect person to host... not without a performance, of course.

14 of 30

Morgan Freeman

How has it that the most famous voice in Hollywood hasn't had a chance to bust cast members' chops in his own sketch?

15 of 30

Allison Janney

If Janney ever hosts an episode, we have one request: She needs to reprise her cover of "The Jackal" from The West Wing.

16 of 30

Joaquin Phoenix

His acting roles are versatile and his sense of humor is dry. He'd be the perfect candidate to star in a Weekend Update segment.

17 of 30

Michael B. Jordan

Can Sylvester Stallone and Jordan reprise their Creed roles for a particular scene? Maybe a boxing match thrown in there?

18 of 30

Nick Offerman

Think of the guest stars (and characters) Nick Offerman would bring with him if he ever hosted.

19 of 30

Kristen Bell

Given her success on The Good Place, Bell knows how to get a laugh out of an audience.

20 of 30

Sandra Bullock

If Miss Congeniality taught the world anything, it's that Sandra Bullock has no fear to perform slapstick comedy.

21 of 30

Denzel Washington

I mean... it's Denzel Washington we're talking about.

22 of 30

Susan Sarandon

She's already performed in a sketch with Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake. What else is she capable of doing on the show if she got the chance to host?

23 of 30

Ali Wong

With popular comedy specials on Netflix and writing for shows like Fresh Off the Boat, there's no way she wouldn't put her two cents into any of the sketches.

24 of 30

John Krasinski

We all know Krasinski can bring the funny. But now that he's shredded, maybe there's a way to incorporate a fitness class sketch?

25 of 30

James Corden

A little bit of Carpool Karaoke. A little bit of Crosswalk the Musical. Talk about a great episode idea.

26 of 30

Leonardo DiCaprio

Sure, Leo's one of the most famous men to step on a Hollywood red carpet these days. But who remembers how he got his acting start starring on the comedy sitcom, Growing Pains?

27 of 30

Sacha Baron Cohen

He's known for taking his characters to extreme. If there's any place to test out new material, a hosting gig on SNL would be the perfect place to do so.

28 of 30

Tom Cruise

If SNL found a way to bring Mission: Impossible to Stage 8H, it would have Cruise's name written all over it.

29 of 30

Stephen Colbert

He's already hosted two late-night talk shows, and he knows how to play up political satire. Imagine how he'd react in an Election 2020 sketch...

30 of 30

Owen Wilson

He's starred in comedies like Wedding Crashers, You, Me and Dupree, and The Internship. If his material is anything like his films, he'd fit the role of host perfectly.
