Last July the thirteenth National People's Congress has released its second draft amendments to the Patent Law. Open for comments until mid-August, it provides some new terms that are improving the level of patent protection that we analyze in the first article.
In the second article we deal with a recent case involving Qierte Co., from Fujian province, and New Balance, the American brand which has been troubled by the copycat shoes bearing different N logo since it entered China. We talk then about the simplification of some time-consuming and costly procedures provided by the new draft of the Provisions on Evidence in Civil proceedings involving IP disputes.
