Blake Lively Celebrated Her "Gossip Girl" Days With a Throwback Photo - Teen Vogue

A Gossip Girl reboot is on the horizon, but Blake Lively and the show's original cast haven't forgotten the iconic series in the eight years since Gossip Girl wrapped on The CW in 2012.

Blake, who played carefree It Girl Serena van der Woodsen in the series, posted a photo of the Constance Billard and St. Jude students from all the way back in 2007. Blake shared the throwback last weekend, captioning it “Class of ‘07 💋." The photo features the actors who played Blair's popular girl posse, plus Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester, and more.

The photo is appropriately timed. The reboot series had to pause filming because of COVID-19, but it recently resumed production; the new cast includes Emily Alyn Lind, Whitney Peak, Zion Moreno, Thomas Doherty, Eli Brown, Tavi Gevinson, and more. In an Instagram post also from this weekend, series writer and producer Joshua Safran shared a photo from (where else?) the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

“Eight years later, we’re back making GOSSIP GIRL,” he wrote. “It’s a very unsettling feeling to return to physical work right now, but that’s balanced by knowing we’re able to employ so many artists and artisans who rely on their work to live, and the ability to surround them with the best safety protocols available. See you in 2021. It’s going to be a journey, that’s for sure.”
