Big news, folks - the Gossip Girl reboot has officially started shooting.
Yep, according to Deadline, the much anticipated show picked up its cameras on Monday (November 2nd), and began shooting in New York.
It comes as - much like for many shows - filming was delayed back in March, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
So far, we know award-winning director Karena Evans (P-Valley) has been tipped to direct the pilot and second episode of the new HBO Max show.
Other locations the cast and crew are expected to film in include Vancouver and Los Angeles, say Variety.
The new 10-part series will begin eight years after the original and follow a new generation of privileged teens
HBO has announced Emily Alyn Lind, Whitney Peak, Eli Brown, Johnathan Fernandez, Tavi Gevinson and Jason Gotay will be joining the cast, and making up the new cast of Manhattan's elite.
As far as their characters, the network is remaining tight-lipped. We only know that Lind will be playing 'Audrey', described as a teen in a long-term relationship who begins to wonder what else could be out there, plus Kristen Bell will be returning as a narrator.
There isn't word as of yet who her co-stars will be playing, which characters will be dating who, if there'll be any links to any character's from the OG series (*prays for cameos from the old cast grown up*).
Emily Alyn Lind, 17, is best known for playing Amanda Clarke in ABC's Revenge, while other notable roles include Ariel in Code Black, Sacred Lies and movie The Babysitter.
She'll be joined by Whitney Peak who will be recognisable from her role as Judith in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, as well as her recurring role in Home Before Dark. Plus, well-known fashion blogger Tavi Gevinson will be stepping up to appear on the show.
Repping for the boys is musician and actor Eli Brown, best known as Dylan Walker in Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists and as Dave in Spinning Out. He'll be joined by Johnathan Fernandez who has a number of acting credits to his name, as well as Jason Gotay of Peter Pan Live!
Given what Gossip Girl did for the careers of Blake Lively (Serena van der Woodsen), Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf), Penn Badgley (Dan Humphrey), Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald), and Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass), you can bet these lot are about to become household names.
The show will be penned and executive produced by Joshua Safran, a former Gossip Girl showrunner, meanwhile the series' OG creators, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, are also executive producing.
It's due to land in 2021. We'll update you as soon as we have a date!
