Gossip Girl was one of the most influential teen dramas ever released. It featured high profile celebrity guests and helped kickstart the careers of many cast members, such as Blake Lively and Leighton Meester. The 2021 reboot is not a re-telling of a story but rather a continuation that will still be narrated by Kristen Bell.
There's very little information available about the reboot, but the cast has been confirmed. Many of them already have some experience in the world of entertainment, while others are newcomers.
10 Eli Brown
Eli Brown's Gossip Girl character is called Obie Bergmann IV. Considering his royal title, it's clear that Obie comes from a really wealthy family. Eli described him as a ''really good guy'' and ''a humanitarian''. Someone else is going to have to fill the shoes of the original Gossip Girl villains.
This won't be Brown's screen debut, though. He can be seen in Run Hide Fight (2020), Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists (2019), and The F**k-It List (2020). He is 21 years old and has been dating Talia Wirkkula-Hibdon for almost six years.
9 Whitney Peak
Whitney Peak's character will probably be one of the most central ones, similar to either Blair or Serena. Fans of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina already know her as Judith Blackwood. Peak was born in Uganda and moved to Canada in 2012 when she was nine years old.
According to Interview Magazine, she started acting when she was thirteen years old. She is a fan of the original Gossip Girl and was clearly excited when her agent told her that they booked her. This role is definitely going to put Whitney on a map of young, talented A-listers.
8 Tavi Gevinson
The 24 year-old Tavi comes from Chicago and is no stranger to media publicity. When she was 12 years old, she launched her own fashion blog, called Style Rookie. It was such a success that she got invited to the Paris and New York Fashion Weeks when she was just 12 years old. She's also the editor-in-chief of a magazine for teenagers, similarly called Rookie. What a role model!
In 2013, she landed her first role as Chloe in Enough Said, a rom-com that received several accolades and numerous nominations. She's already worth around $7 million.
7 Emily Alyn Lind
This 18 year-old New Yorker is about to join the list of child actors who found success as adults in Hollywood. Some might know her from ABC's Revenge as the young version of Amanda Clarke and CBS's Code Black as Ariel. Acting is a family business: her father is a producer, while her mother and her two sisters are also actors. She's currently worth about $2 million.
Her character on Gossip Girl will be called Audrey. All that Emily revealed so far is that Audrey lives on the Upper East Side and that she's in a committed relationship, wondering whether that's all there is to life.
6 Johnathan Fernandez
The Lethal Weapon star is both an actor as well as a comedian. He might not be a household name, but there are some pretty impressive entries on his CV. He worked for The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, among many others.
Nothing is yet known about his character. He might play one of the adults in Gossip Girl. If the reboot is going to be anything like the original, that means just as much drama as it does for the teens.
5 Thomas Doherty
The Gossip Girl cast includes Thomas Doherty, the 25 year-old Scottish actor who owes his success to The Lodge and Descendants. His was most recently cast in Hulu's High Fidelity, a rom-com series that was unfortunately cancelled after only one season.
He used to date his Descendants co-star Dove Cameron, but as of October 2020, he is once again single.
4 Jordan Alexander
Who is Jordan Alexander? She is a singer and actor from Toronto, Canada and she is 27 years old. In 2020, she was cast in Sacred Lies, a horror TV show where she plays a character called Elsie. As for her character on Gossip Girl, nothing is known about her.
Her songs on YouTube have around 20 000 views each. It's always quiet before the storm, though. Once Gossip Girl comes out, Jordan Alexander's career will probably skyrocket to the next level.
3 Adam Chanler-Berat
Adam Chanler-Berat primary occupation is a theatre/Broadway actor. He is 34 years old, which means he might play a teacher in the Gossip Girl reboot. He's also appeared on television before. He began where many actors begin - on Law & Order.
He played alongside Vince Vaugh in Delivery Man (2013) and Uma Thurman in The Life Before Her Eyes (2007).
