Surprise, Upper East Siders. It looks like you'll be able to finish your Gossip Girl binge after all.
After the iconic The CW series was removed from Netflix on December 31, 2020, fans were left scrambling as they tried to finish the series before it was removed from the service. But if you're just like us and are still finding a way to re-watch the show on a streamer, we got some good news for you.
HBO Max has officially confirmed that all six season of Gossip Girl are now available on the streaming giant. Fans who are already subscribed or who are planning to sign-up can now enjoy the show in its new home.
The show's big move shouldn't come at too much of a surprise. It was announced in 2020 that a brand new reboot of the series would launch on HBO Max in 2021 and fans are already freaking out over its cast and what little bit they've seen so far as they currently film in NYC.
While several of the original show's cast have confirmed that they are not currently set to return, Joshua Safran, who is a creator on both series, noted that the show will nod back to the original.
"I would love for everyone to come back if they wanted to. The universe still exists. The characters talk about Serena, Blair, Chuck, Dan. They are a part of the world," he told Entertainment Tonight. "The characters talk about them and that they do exist. So, yeah, I would love to have them come back. The show jumped five years in the future when it ended and we are past that five years now, so it's whole new things that they could be doing."
Here's hoping this big move brings both shows together even more.
