The daily gossip: Lady Gaga's dog walker describes his 'very close call with death,' Hilaria and Alec Baldwin welcome a daughter, and more - Yahoo News

Ryan Fischer is "in recovery from a very close call with death," after being shot in a dognapping incident last week in which two of Lady Gaga's three French bulldogs were stolen. Fisher shared updates on Instagram and thanked Lady Gaga for her support. He called Asia, the dog who evaded the dognappers, his "guardian angel" for staying with him as he lay on the ground after being shot. "I cradled Asia as best I could, thanked her for all the incredible adventures we'd been on together, apologized that I couldn't defend her brothers, and then resolved that I would still try to save them… and myself,” he wrote. While "a lot of healing still needs to happen," he's excited to reunite with the dogs, who have been returned. The criminals are still at large. [Instagram]

Hilaria Baldwin has found an admittedly rather successful way of distracting from the fact that we all know she isn't Spanish! On Tuesday, the wife of Alec Baldwin revealed on Instagram that her family has welcomed a sixth child into its fold, though the parents are apparently not telling anyone where the newborn came from. The baby girl, whose name is Lucia, joined the Baldwins just five months after Hilaria gave birth to baby Eduardo, leading one commenter to ask, "Who's the mother? ... If it was a surrogate just say that." Alec Baldwin wrote back in reply, "You should shut the f--k up and mind your own business." Right, noted! [Jezebel, Page Six]

He may not have been an original stan, but Robert De Niro is going to check out Migos — he even verified the spelling so he can look them up. De Niro was made aware of the rap group while filming Wash Me in the River, which features Migos member Quavo in his debut role as a "ruthless gangster." When Quavo met De Niro, he told him about one of his new songs. "He was just like, 'For real. M-I-G-O-S, right?' I was like, 'Yeah, he's finna go home and look me up.' It was too hard," Quavo told Billboard of his interaction with De Niro. The rapper called it an "honor" to share the screen with the actor, who he deems a "nice dude." [Billboard]

Transgender characters will be welcome at Hogwarts in the latest Harry Potter video game. Hogwarts Legacy, the new Harry Potter role-playing game, will let players create a character "that has a masculine or feminine voice no matter what their body looks like," according to Bloomberg. While the publication notes other video games have offered similar customization, the news that this one will is particularly significant in light of the controversy sparked by a series of anti-trans statements made by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier said on Twitter that those who leaked the news did so "because development of the game started long before Rowling's anti-trans crusade, and because they're sad and frustrated." The 2021 Golden Globes might have been the most chaotic in the ceremony's recent history, but it looks like viewers just weren't interested. Sunday's broadcast drew an average television audience of just 6.9 million viewers, Nielsen said. That was a massive drop from the average of 18.3 million viewers who tuned into 2020's ceremony, and it's the lowest audience for the Golden Globes since 1995, before the telecast moved from TBS to NBC. So what happened? It was certainly an unusual year for the Globes, with many splashy movie releases delayed due to theaters being closed amid the pandemic, and with nominees joining the bicoastal telecast remotely. It could also be that more viewers than usual simply weren't familiar with the films up for awards. Seriously, was Mank even a real movie? [The Wrap, The Week]
