Lorde apparently went a little too hard when she went out with Seth Meyers during his day drinking segment for Late Night. After airing the pre-taped segment, in which the pair pound back Lorde-inspired drinks like the "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" (sake, whiskey, red wine, topped with White Claw), Meyers asked how hungover Lorde was the next day. "I almost can't even talk about it," she told him. "I can't even look at an alcoholic drink ever again." Lorde had gone out with Meyers on a Monday, but she needed to perform on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert the next day, which Meyers said made him "nervous." Admitted Lorde, "You did kind of destroy me and I did have to get a very pop star thing, an IV drip … [someone] came to my hotel and administered fluids to my corpse."
