Gossip makes the world go ‘round, a new Showtime series seeks to prove.

“Gossip,” a four-part docuseries on the rise of tabloid media, premieres on Showtime on Sunday, Aug. 22, at 8 p.m. EST (5 p.m. PT). You can also watch it on FuboTV (free trial), Sling andHulu + Live TV (free trial).

The series, directed by Jenny Carchman, introduces the “cut-throat players who blew up the news,” according to the official series description. The show delves into Rupert Murdoch’s ascent and “America’s insatiable appetite for dirt” with Cindy Adams, a prominent gossip columnist.

“Gossip” reviews some of the most high-profile celebrity gossip stories, including Britney Spears, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Paris Hilton. Well-known entertainment journalists from the New York Post and blogger Perez Hilton contribute in-depth interviews.
