Will Ariana Grande say "thank u, next" to the Academy next year? The first reactions to Adam McKay's new movie Don't Look Up are in, and critics are liking Ariana Grande's chances at scoring an Oscar nomination. The satire stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence as astronomers desperately trying to convince the world a comet is headed toward Earth, and Grande has a small role as a fictional pop star. Naturally, she gets to perform an original song, which critics are calling "f---ing hilarious," and Variety says it "feels almost certain" she'll get her first Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. If so, she could be up against not only Billie Eilish but also Beyoncé, with other contenders potentially including Jay-Z, Bono, and Jennifer Hudson. With competition like that, it really would be an honor just to be nominated.
