Mickey Rourke, who was last in a hit movie during the Obama administration, has some thoughts on who's irrelevant these days: the star of this summer's biggest blockbuster. In an interview with Piers Morgan, the Wrestler star went after Tom Cruise as "irrelevant," slamming him for playing "the same part for 35 effing years." Sure, Cruise's latest film, Top Gun: Maverick, is an unprecedented phenomenon and one of the highest-grossing movies ever made. But Rourke said this "doesn't mean s--t to me," adding he has "no respect" for Cruise's willingness to essentially take the same role over and over. "When I watch Al Pacino working, Christopher Walken, and De Niro's early work … Richard Harris' work and Ray Winstone's work, that's the kind of actor I want to be like," he said. Cruise hasn't issued a response, though it would presumably be something akin to Don Draper's "I don't think about you at all."
