Discovery is reportedly adding insult to injury by planning to completely pull the show from HBO Max, just months after the finale aired. The Nevers is also reportedly being removed, though Deadline says both shows "are likely to resurface on other company platforms." Still, Westworld was the most high-profile series to be purged from HBO Max so far, though dozens of others started disappearing over the summer. The removals appeared to be an attempt by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav — the man who also canceled the nearly finished Batgirl movie — to cut costs, as Variety notes that by pulling the shows, the company can save money on residuals paid to the cast and crew. Yeah, physical media's not looking so bad now, huh? These streaming delights have deeply depressing ends.
