Netflix is finally putting its money to good use. Famed rom-com filmmaker Nancy Meyers (It's Complicated) is working on a new Netflix movie, which will apparently be shockingly expensive. The streamer has greenlighted Meyers' first film since The Intern at a budget "in the $130 million range," roughly twice what it cost to make the recent Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher rom-com Your Place or Mine, Puck reports. Believe it or not, this number is apparently less than she wanted, as Puck says Meyers' team "went back to Netflix and claimed it would be hard to make the movie for less than $150 million," though Netflix wasn't convinced. The film is expected to star Scarlett Johansson, Owen Wilson, Penelope Cruz, and Michael Fassbender, and Puck says it will be semi-autobiographical, following "Hollywood exes who end up working together." So that's how Netflix plans to stop everyone from canceling over its new password-sharing rules: hitting the emergency red button marked "Nancy Meyers: Endgame."
