Best pals Mason Mount and Declan Rice can wave as they pass each other by and Arsenal have joined a four-club race for Alexis Mac Allister.
MAC ATTACK
Brighton are doing rather well and the Big Six clubs want some of their secret sauce.
Moises Caicedo was heavily linked with a move away in January, but has since signed a new contract with the Seagulls, but his midfield partner – Alexis Mac Allister – is also drawing admiring glances and could be on his way this summer.
That’s according to Football Insider, who who have been told by sources close to Mac Allister that the World Cup winner is ‘ready to go’ to a bigger club this summer.
It’s claimed Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City have joined Liverpool in registering an interest in the Brighton midfielder, and a bidding war could ensue when the transfer window opens with Brighton prepared to listen to offers above £70m.
MOUNT OUT, RICE IN
Chelsea’s big win over Leeds was far from convincing, and is now the way at Stamford Bridge, more so even than the Roman Abramovich days, problems are remedied by signings.
Having spent nearly £600m in their first two transfer windows in charge, Todd Boehly and Clearlake are preparing to go big again this summer and have two players at the top of their wishlist, according to Fichajes.
The Blues want to make Joao Felix’s move permanent, and secure the signing of long-term target Declan Rice.
Chelsea don’t have an option in Felix’s loan deal to sign him permanently, and reports suggest Atletico Madrid want something close to the £120m they paid Benfica in the summer of 2019. There’s surely no chance Boehly will sanction that, and further reports suggest they will test the Spanish side’s resolve with a bid of around £70m.
But Chelsea will likely have to meet West Ham’s £100m valuation for Rice. Because although both Roy Keane and Gary Neville reckon that’s exorborbitant, it appears there will be quite the clamour from a number of clubs to land him this summer.
Fichajes also claim that Chelsea ‘want to sell’ five players to drum up funds for Felix and Rice. Kalidou Koulibaly, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech and Conor Gallagher are all thought to be up for grabs.

TEN HAG CLOSING ON FRIMPONG
Jeremie Frimpong is reportedly edging close to a move to Manchester United this summer.
The 22-year-old – who was named in the Netherlands squad for the World Cup in Qatar but didn’t feature – is thought to be manager Erik ten Hag’s preferred right-back target.
Ten Hag is thought to be unconvinced by Aaron Wan-Bissaka, despite the former Crystal Palace full-back featuring more recently, and journalist Christian Falk believes a deal for Frimpong is close to being agreed, with Bayer Leverkusen willing to see the back of the player should a suitable offer arrive.
