Netflix is giving Scott Pilgrim vs. the World an extra life. A new anime series is in the works at the streamer with the entire cast of Edgar Wright's cult action comedy returning to voice their characters, including Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anna Kendrick, Aubrey Plaza, and Brie Larson. "After much musing over the years about there being potential for an anime adaptation of Scott Pilgrim, I'm thrilled to say one is IMMINENT, with the whole cast back together and … you are going to lose your minds," Wright tweeted. Cera starred in the 2010 film based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novels, in which a young man must fight his girlfriend's league of evil exes. But Wright told Netflix's Tudum that O'Malley came up with an idea for this anime that's "way more adventurous than just a straight adaptation" of his books, and it will feature original songs by Anamanaguchi. Scott earned the power of IP expansion!
