It's Dr. Pimple Popper's time to shine. The first Hollywood writers' strike in 15 years is officially underway after the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers failed to reach an agreement for a new contract. This means television production is set to grind to a halt starting today, as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and Late Night With Seth Meyers will all immediately go dark, according to The New York Times. Many of your favorite shows could face delays in the fall and beyond if the strike continues, though unscripted shows aren't affected, and even some scripted shows will proceed with production. For example, HBO's House of the Dragon will continue filming because all of the season 2 scripts were completed before the strike began, Variety reports. At least some writers in the Game of Thrones universe can meet deadlines.
